The Importance of Self Expression: Part One, Getting Started

I am an artist, though I understand not every person feels that they are artistically inclined.  However, everyone has a story burning inside of them.  I story that needs to be expressed and released.  Expression gives a sense of catharsis that lifts burdens from the mind, body, and soul.

Here are some points I would like to bring to your attention:

  1.  You do not have to feel that you are proficiently talented in order to express yourself in a certain area.  Example:  I am a visual artist. Recently I started singing on YouTube.  I am not the best singer in the world, but this new means of expression brings me so much joy that I am continuing to work on it and progress.  I feels good to experiment with new mediums of expression.  Do not over think it.  Just express yourself in a manner that makes you feel alive, be it writing, drawing, singing, dancing… or simply start by talking to another and expressing yourself verbally.
  2. You do not have to carry all you burdens on you own, no matter how misunderstood you think you may be, you will not ever know until you put yourself out there a bit and who knows, you may find you are not alone.  You may find your “tribe” I did!.
  3. Do not worry about what others opinions of your expression will be or are.  If you choose to share your expressions with the world fantastic, or if you would rather keep them to yourself.  That is fine as well.  Just release what you have caged in your heart or mind.  The freedom you will gain from this is indescribable.

I hope each of you will continue finding a way at some point today to express yourself.  To open those cages and free the songbird in your hearts and mind.

Until next time time,

As ALWAYS — So much love!!!  Your friend  ~~~  Amanada
