The energies have been intensely fabulous lately and they’re about to get bigger. HUGE, in fact!
Buckle up, Star Babies! Wait, actually that won’t work. Throw away your seatbelt and grab your StarBoard cuz this is gonna be a helluva ride! BOOYAH!
Here’s what’s in store for us over the next four days:
October 7 ~ Uranus at Opposition
October 8 ~ Full Blood Moon Eclipse
October 8, 9 ~ Draconids Meteor Shower
October 10 ~ 10/10 Portal
The moon will be in Aries at the time of the eclipse (6:51 am eastern). Retrograde Mercury is in Scorpio, moving into Libra on October 10. Mercury will be retrograde until October 26. The eclipse chart includes a Grand Fire Trine and a more rare configuration called a Kite.
See below for more information on all these events with links to other sources.
In the past, when I’ve written about times/events like this, I’ve included excerpts from some of the sources who have discussed them, highlighting what you might expect to experience, including the more positive and the more challenging possibilities. But I don’t want to do that this time, for a couple of reasons. One, although each event is unique, they’re always about energy. Everything is energy. And I don’t think it really matters what type of energy you are being gifted with in any moment. I think what matters is what you do with it and how you deal with everything that is going on. In this process, we know there are ups and downs. We know there are challenging and intense times. That won’t change for quite a while. It’s you who will change. And me. All of us are changing. It doesn’t matter if you are being gifted with intense energies at a particular moment. What matters is whether or not you are still struggling with them and what you are going to do about it.
Two, I prefer not to dwell on what you might call the “negative” or challenging aspects of these types of events. It’s kind of like when Mercury goes retrograde. Did you know that Mercury goes retrograde three or four times a year? Sometimes I wonder if Mercury feels like President Obama because he gets blamed for everything all the time, too. I don’t want to blame Mercury’s journey any more than I want to blame President Obama or you or the cabal or The Great Spirit if things seem to be going offtrack. If things seem to be going offtrack, I intend to put my focus where it belongs ~ on myself. So what if it looks like Mercury is moving backward? All that matters is how I deal with whatever that may bring. In that sense, this time is no different than any other. Every moment is the same when I understand that everything is energy and that all I need is within. The only thing that matters is what I do or don’t do. The only thing that matters is how I choose to deal with every moment that comes.
So why am I even talking about this? Why am I writing a post about this interesting and potentially challenging week if I don’t want to discuss the details?
Because it’s EXCITING! I’m EXCITED! I’m happy, joyful, and looking forward to wonderful moments and experiences ~ miracles even. After all, magic is afoot! There will be beautiful things to see and amazing things to feel. I’m getting on the roller coaster and I’m going to sit in the first car. My heart is going to pound on the way up and I will yell with joy on the way down. I’m going to stick my hands out of the car and I’m going to keep my eyes open when we go upside down. Sometimes the ride will slow down and sometimes it will speed up and I will enjoy every minute of it. And when the ride is over I am going to get back in line. I’ll probably make some new friends while we’re waiting to get to the front of the line. Then I’m going to get back on the roller coaster and do it all over again. Because as scary as a roller coaster ride can be at times, I know there is really no danger. Because I know there is nothing to be afraid of, ever. Because I love it when my stomach drops then jumps back into my throat. Because it’s exhilarating. Because it’s like flying. Because it’s like defying gravity. Because I have no control over what happens. Because it gives me a feeling of speed and freedom. And because it’s FUN.
How do you feel about this time? It doesn’t matter what anybody else says. I could tell you that you might feel your emotions coming to the surface or past memories popping up, seemingly haunting you yet again. I could tell you that some people will be lashing out in anger or acting crazy. I could tell you that you might be tired or experience headaches or other physical symptoms. I could tell you that this is a perfect time to balance your four lower bodies or to gauge how much progress you’ve made on your spiritual journey. So, what else is new? Isn’t that how you could describe every moment of this process?
What matters is how you choose to perceive this moment, how you choose to proceed, and how you want to come out on the other side of it. Do you envision this as a difficult time when you want to hide under the covers or do you envision this as a magical mystery tour kind of time, filled with wonderful possibilities?
You’re a co-creator and you are being given some interesting energies to work with. The rest, as they say, is up to you.

October 7 – Uranus at Opposition. The blue-green planet will be at its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun. This is the best time to view Uranus. Due to its distance, it will only appear as a tiny blue-green dot in all but the most powerful telescopes.
October 8 – Full Moon. The Moon will be directly opposite the Earth from the Sun and will be fully illuminated as seen from Earth. This phase occurs at 10:51 UTC. This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Hunters Moon because at this time of year the leaves are falling and the game is fat and ready to hunt. This moon has also been known as the Travel Moon and the Blood Moon.
October 8 – Total Lunar Eclipse. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes completely through the Earth’s dark shadow, or umbra. During this type of eclipse, the Moon will gradually get darker and then take on a rusty or blood red color. The eclipse will be visible throughout most of North America, South America, eastern Asia, and Australia. (NASA Map and Eclipse Information)
October 8, 9 – Draconids Meteor Shower. The Draconids is a minor meteor shower producing only about 10 meteors per hour. It is produced by dust grains left behind by comet 21P Giacobini-Zinner, which was first discovered in 1900. The shower runs annually from October 6-10 and peaks this year on the the night of the 8th and morning of the 9th. Unfortunately the glare from the full moon this year will block out all but the brightest meteors. If you are extremely patient, you may be able to catch a few good ones. Best viewing will be just after midnight from a dark location far away from city lights. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Draco, but can appear anywhere in the sky.
